This will be the status of WhatsApp
This will be the status of WhatsApp: private, ephemeral and very multimedia
WhatsApp states are going to be a new way to stay in touch with our friends.
Instead of having to send a message to each person, we can share our mood with a state that will only be visible for 24 hours. After that time, the message - which may contain both photographs and videos - will disappear and there will be no trace of our publication. But how will they work? Will they reach the whole world? And when will they?
We wanted to make a compilation of what we know so far - let us call it that - the "WhatsApp States". We know that it will be a function with a dynamics very similar to the messages that are shared by Snapchat or Instagram, we know that will allow us to share both photos and videos, we know we can add drawings about our states and, above all, we are Sure that it will be a function that will try to follow the wake of success that have left behind the Instagram Stories.
Because more and more specific leaks have emerged over the last few days about the new state feature in WhatsApp, we wanted to gather the details that are more or less credible enough to think that they will come in any of the following WhatsApp updates . All this, of course, based on unofficial information that is not yet confirmed.
This will show the WhatsApp status tab
When we say that the WhatsApp Status (for now we will call them that way because the official name will not be known) they are going to be a new form of communication in this instant messaging application, we do it completely in earnest. The states will appear in a dedicated tab exactly as do the text messages or calls right now; When we enter the application, on the main screen we will see a new "States" tab that will allow us to update our public status.
In this tab we will see our last published status, whereas if we have not yet published one, what we will see is a button that will allow us to add a new status to our account.
And will appear in this same tab, that of "States", the states of our contacts? That is now an unknown, because neither the first leaks nor the last image filtered by @WABetaInfo appears the part of the screen in which the states of the contacts would be displayed. The little we have seen so far has only revealed the existence of this menu, but not its exact functioning.
In any case, and regarding the question of whether other people's publications will be displayed in this tab, we assume they will. We imagine that we will be able to see the WhatsApp states of our contacts as we would with the Instagram stories or the Snapchat publications of the people we follow in these social networks. In fact, there has been a leak that indicates that we will be notified when a contact changes state.
Everything we share will disappear after 24 hours
But even more interesting is the screen shot of the WhatsApp iOS version that the @WABetaInfo account has recently posted. In it, what we can see is a new adjustment in this messaging application that basically confirms everything that has been rumored for some time: the states will be ephemeral, which means that they will be automatically deleted after 24 hours.
In the capture in question you can also see a button with the name of "Privacy Settings", which - to speculate - could mean that the application would give us the possibility to choose exactly which contacts we want to share our status with. Clearly we would not be willing to share the same ephemeral photographs with our family members as with our soccer team mates.
All these changes, we remember, will come from the hand of new options that are still to come, such as, for example, the location of the members of a group. Time will tell if the leaks have hit the news that Mark Zuckerberg's have right now in hand.
