In the latest version of the application we will have a new field in the account settings in which we can activate it.

                         Settings -> Account -> 2-step verification -> Activate.

When we activate it we will be asked for a six-figure PIN that we will have to use and memorize since we will be asked every time we have to verify our phone number.

In case we forget it we have the option to put our e-mail when activated. So, from an email sent to it by WhatsApp we can deactivate this function. However to avoid forgetting it WhatsApp will ask us from time to time to put the code, simply to help us memorize it.

It is important to bear in mind that we should not click on an email that tells us that we will disable this protection if we have not previously requested it. It seems obvious but many of the hack techniques or SPAM come from similar ideas.

In case we forget the PIN and we do not have access to the mail we must wait 7 days to verify our telephone number and to be able to access the account again. If 30 days pass without access and we do not verify the account this will be deleted, but we can re-create it with our same phone number.

This feature has been used in the beta version of the application and now reaches all users of WhatsApp, the more than 1.2 billion that is all over the planet.
